Der Draht erf\u00fcllt somit sowohl die Funktion einer Elektrode als auch die Funktion der Materialzufuhr zur Verbindung, da er durch den Stromdurchgang zum Schmelzen gebracht und mit Hilfe eines Brenners kontinuierlich in die Schwei\u00dfzone gef\u00fchrt wird. <\/p><p>Die Schutzatmosph\u00e4re, die f\u00fcr den Betrieb des Lichtbogens erforderlich ist, um eine Verunreinigung des Bades durch die Luftatmosph\u00e4re zu vermeiden, wird durch ein in den Brenner str\u00f6mendes Gas bereitgestellt, das je nach seiner Zusammensetzung als aktiv oder inert definiert werden kann: Argon (Ar), Helium (He) und Mischungen zwischen den beiden Gasen werden als inert definiert (MIG-Schwei\u00dfen), jede Zugabe von Kohlendioxid (CO2), Sauerstoff (O2 ), Stickstoff (N2) und Wasserstoff (H2) zu der
